See How your Favorite Volvo SUVs Stack Up Against the Competition

At All Star Volvo Cars of Baton Rouge, we were curious. We already know there are countless attributes and virtues in our lineup of Volvo models that make it the best option for drivers. But, we wondered, how do all these winning traits compare when placed side by side, number by number, against similar, competing models? Needless to say, we weren't surprised by the answer.

We took two of our favorite Volvo SUVs, the Volvo XC60 and the Volvo XC90, and put them up against competing models from both Audi and BMW, and the results confirm what we, and Volvo fans throughout the area, already knew - that Volvo produces the most well-equipped, powerful, luxurious models around.

Volvo XC60 Comparisons

Volvo XC60 vs. BMW X4

  • Cargo space. The Volvo XC60 includes up to 63.3 cubic feet of cargo storage, while the BMW has only 40.4 cubic feet available.
  • Standard features. The XC60 list is lengthy, and includes a standard panoramic sunroof, which the BMW X4 does not offer standard.

Volvo XC60 vs. Audi Q5

  • Engine options. Three impressive engines are available for the Volvo SUV, while the Audi doesn't give you a choice and has just one powertrain available for all models.
  • Cargo space. The Volvo XC60 also dominates the Audi Q5 when it comes to cargo storage when you compare its 63-plus cubic feet of available space to the 53 cubic feet available on the Audi.

Volvo XC90 Comparisons

Volvo XC90 vs. BMW X5

  • Seating configurations. Both of these SUVs offer three-row or two-row configurations, but the Volvo gives you more options for yours. There are four-passenger, five-passenger, six-passenger, or seven-passenger capacities for the Volvo, while the BMW has only either a five or seven-passenger capacity.
  • Hybrid power. Both SUVs also offer two gas-powered engines. But the Volvo gives you a third choice, in the form of a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Volvo XC90 vs. Audi Q7

  • Hybrid innovation. As with the BMW comparison before it, the Audi Q7 doesn't give drivers a hybrid power option, while the Volvo XC90 does.
  • Cargo space. Carry more of what's important to you in a Volvo XC90, with a cargo hold that can accommodate up to 85.7 cubic feet, compared to the Audi cargo hold with 69.9 cubic feet of space available.
